It’s the most wonderful time of the year, some would say. There’s festive cheer ‘n’ work Chrissy parties all around, and people are stressin’ all over the place – it’s quite the combo. But if all things Santa really just float your boat, then Christmas markets are the place to be. We’ve put together a list of ten Christmas markets happening in and around Perth, so you can soak up all things red and green while you can – take a look.
1. Kyilla Twilight Christmas Market – North Perth
On Tuesday 13 December from 4pm until 8pm at the Kyilla Park in North Perth, things are getting shaken up a bit with the Kyilla Twilight Christmas Market. Expect to browse through a huge 60 stalls with plenty of Chrissy gifts, and choose a bite to eat from 20 dang tasty steet food vendors.
The festive vibes will be plussed up by free face painting and Christmas craft in the Kids Zone, gingerbread decorating, a pop-up art station, live music, a very cute visit from the Christmas Fairy between 6pm and 8pm, and plenty more The Kyilla Twilight Christmas Marke is a pet friendly event

2. Sorrento Christmas Night Market
On Friday 16 December from 4:30pm until 8:30pm, get on over to Seacrest Park for the Sorrento Christmas Night Market. Here, you’ll find the whole kit and kaboodle: inflatable reindeer and heaps of Christmas decorations, light up fairies from 6pm until 7pm, Christmas Carolers from 5.30pm until 6pm, gingerbread decorating classes for kids, live music, Connect 4 competitions, face painting and of course, market stalls. It’s going to be a good one.

3. Perth Makers Market Christmas – Applecross
On Sunday 18 December from 9:30am until 3:30pm, Heathcote Reserve in Applecross will come alive with the Perth Makers Market Christmas edition. Expect the usual suspects from handmade artisans all hailing from Western Australia and a plethora of food to keep your tummy in check.
With over 180 stalls to browse, artist open studios, mucisians, giant garden games, face painting, an entertainment stage show, an on-site art gallery and museum, a pirate ship playground, and heaps of free kids craft activities; there’s bound to be something to please that’ll please the masses. The parking on site is by donation for the Perth Makers Market Christmas.

4. Summer X Salt Christmas Pop-Up Market – Trigg
On Saturday 10 December from 8am until 1pm, Clarko Reserve in Trigg will be host to the award-winning market, Summer X Salt for their special Christmas pop-up. The beachside locale is a magical place as is, whack on a visit from Santa, over 60 local stalls, and big sustainability vibes; and you’ve got yourself a mighty fine day by the sea.
You can find food trucks, fresh juice, coffee carts, live music, free wellness and family activities, alongside side the creative artisans. Bring your dog, bring your own cups and containers, and bring your Chrissy spirit for the Summer X Salt Christmas Pop-Up Market

5. Perth Hills Artisan Market – Mundaring
On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December between 9:30am and 3pm, take a pleasant road trip up to Mundaring Arena for the Perth Hills Artisan Market, aka the biggest indoor artisan market in Western Australia.
Spanning across two floors, there’s most definitely going to be something truly unique to discover from Western Australia’s finest woodworkers, potters, jewellers and gourmets under one roof, mixed in with wine, gin, artists, painters, clothing and toymakers. And to top it all off, there’s going to be elves on kangaroos and Santa and his sleigh rolling into town.

Christmas markets you may have missed in 2022:
1. Indigenous-Made Christmas Market – Perth
On Saturday 3 December from 3pm until 9pm, Yagan Square in Perth City will enliven with some of the very best Western Australian First Nations artisans and businesses. The market sees a spectacular range of arts, gifts, crafts and delicious food – all out on display for your browsing needs.
On top of that there’ll be plenty of entertainment for the whole community to enjoy, with a hint of Christmas cheer. Expect to get into some Noongar face painting, dance performances, workshops, headband making, rock painting, storybook corner reading, and an Indigenous Santa Clause.

2. Cottesloe Village Hullabaloo
On Saturday 3 December from 10am until 3pm, the Cottesloe Village Hullabaloo will see Napoleon and Railway Streets energised with market stalls which are in need of moseying, a range entertainment, music, arts, crafts, food, bevvies, kids amusements, a petting zoo, an appearance from Santa and a bunch more, so we’re told. All of your favourite Cott eateries will be open too, so you may as well make a day of it.

3. Axford Park Christmas Market – Mount Hawthorn
On Saturday 3 December from 8am until 1pm, Axford Park in Mount Hawthorn will be host to their Christmas Market for a festive special. The day celebrates handmade Western Australian retailers only, including pre-loved fashion, plants, and local produce to name a few; with part of the day’s proceeds being donated to the Nakuru Hope foundation. There’ll be heaps of food, family-friendly entertainment, a Christmas hamper raffle, and even a visit from Santa and his elves.

4. Fremantle Arts Centre’s Christmas Bazaar
On Friday 2 from 5pm until 9pm, and on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December from 9am until 5pm, head on over to the Fremantle Arts Centre’s grounds for their Christmas Bazaar. All in all, the Bazaar is a celebration of handmade and quality craftsmanship by 50 local creatives.
Find some original and great wares, from crafts and homewares to fashion, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, woodwork, toys, prints, stationery and heaps more. Stay energised with treats from a multitude of food vendors and hydrated by the bar.

5. Perth Upmarket Christmas Edition – Crawley
On Sunday 27 November from 10am until 4pm, the University of Western Australia’s Winthrop Hall will be enlivened with by the Perth Upmarket’s Christmas Edition – the biggest design market around. Not only will there be over 180 local artists, creators, and designer, but for the first time there’ll be a dedicated gourmet section for all your snacking needs. Find handmade Christmas decor by Flowers Edited, stainless steel ornaments by Robin Wells Jewellery, and simply perfect snacks by Little Cookie Society.
