Freo is at it again! This time, the port city is hosting a 10-day festival among the oldest recorded in Australia. 10 Nights in Port | Walyalup Fremantle Festival has had many names and themes over the years. But it is a yearly spectacle of some of the best performances and visual arts, bridging present-day Fremantle with its historic past.

10 Nights in Port: All You Need to Know
2026’s theme, Huddle, is felt throughout the 10 Nights in Port events. It strives to bring the community closer via shared experiences, buoyed by food, fire, music, and storytelling. The opening night took place on August 20 and was overflowing with food trucks, workshops, and gallery launches by the fire at Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre.
The heat turns up at Feast & Fire, where Stewart Scambler’s dragon kiln fires alongside humongous fire sculptures, a global shared feast, and live sets from Red Earth Sound System.
Historic spaces across the city host a massive lineup of contemporary theatre and immersive art over ten days. Inside the WA Shipwrecks Museum, Tides merges maritime history with moving images and live music.
You can also catch the new musical A Magical Guide to Fighting Fascism. It follows three generations of women unravelling family secrets. Alternatively, catch The Genesis Project tackle humanity’s bond with nature through physical performance.
The festival has filled Fremantle with interactive installations, youth music showcases, and cinema. Map out personal histories at the interactive Map of Memories, catch upcoming local musicians at Future Treasures, or attend the DADAA AN/OTHER film screenings. The massive program also consists of theatre shows like In the Block Universe and The Raft, alongside major visual art exhibitions running at Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre.
