Two very different corners of Australia’s east and west are about to become dance floors. DRIFT, a brand-new single-day electronic music festival, will debut in early 2027 in Perth (Boorloo) and Brisbane (Meanjin), with local and international artists across two stages.
Perth goes first. DRIFT will take over Ozone Reserve on Sunday, 28 February 2027, the day before the WA Labour Day public holiday. Brisbane follows on Saturday, 6 March 2027, at the Gateway Bridge Underpass. Both events run from afternoon into evening and late into the night.
DRIFT Festival 2027: Two cities, two moods

The festival shares a name and a creative vision across both cities, but each event is built around its setting. Perth gets a late-summer Sunday by the water. Brisbane gets a rawer, industrial backdrop, with the city’s concrete infrastructure and urban surrounds framing a Saturday night of electronic music. Stage design will give each location its own visual identity.
The name comes from drifting off, that moment between awake and asleep when reality bends a little. In the same vein, the lineups follow that idea. Expect a carefully curated musical lineup, with room to stumble upon an artist you didn’t know you’d like.
The Drift Study is the first taste of that world. This cryptic campaign invites locals to enter a mysterious “sleep study” that explores the subconscious minds of Perth and Brisbane. Follow a trail of clues, and a dedicated website offers the first glimpse of the festival.
“Perth and Brisbane have such strong electronic music communities, and we’re excited to bring DRIFT to both cities in 2027,” said Nicholas Greco, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Untitled Group.
