If your Christmas list needs something you won’t find in a shopping centre, put 4–6 December in your diary. Bazaar Makers Market returns to Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre for its 47th year. WA’s longest-running makers market, the Bazaar Market brings some exciting makers and workshops in 2026. Stalls will fill the centre’s lawns and gardens with original art, jewellery, ceramics, fashion, homewares and textiles, with the creators standing behind the tables.
A first for Bazaar Makers Market: Weaving from Kutch
This year’s newcomer is Rajan Bhimji Vankar, a fourth-generation Kutch weaver from Gujarat, India. He visits in collaboration with the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial (IOTA) and will give a Kutch Weaving Presentation over the weekend. He also has a stall in the clothing, accessories, and textiles section.
Sarah Wilkinson, Manager of Arts at the City of Fremantle, says the appeal of Bazaar lies in meeting the maker, hearing the story behind a piece and finding something you won’t see anywhere else.
Who you’ll meet

The stallholder list runs across books and prints, ceramics, clothing and textiles, wood, homewares, jewellery and First Nations art. A few names to look for:
Junko Kitamura is a Japanese-born printmaker and mixed media artist. She makes nature-inspired prints, etchings and watercolours.
Side by Side brings together three local ceramic studios, Kura Studio, Do Pottery and Kaki Studio, to make playful, refined pieces for the home.
Spinifex Hill Studio shows contemporary Aboriginal art by artists from across the Pilbara and beyond.
Belén Berganza makes porcelain lamps, wind chimes, jewellery and objects inspired by nature and mindful living.
The ANJELMS Project is a Fremantle-born label that offers ethically made clothing and traditional Indian craft.

The centre’s Makers Incubator Program supports artists in their first five years of practice with reduced stall fees and mentorship. This year’s incubator makers are Potsbyr (earthy, organic ceramics), Rumble Pottery (functional ceramics with whimsical forms) and CYR (colourful textiles and ceramics inspired by WA’s native flora).
Beyond the stalls

Friday night is the one to book ahead for. The Aperitivo Courtyard serves oysters and bubbles with DJs; the open studios and galleries stay open late, and special adult art classes run in the evening. More adult classes continue through the weekend.
Families get Christmas-themed drop-in art activities in the inner courtyard. Buster the Freo Fun Bus gives parents a chance to browse without the kids.
