The Lunar New Year is officially upon us, and with that comes the Year Of The Tiger, a Chinese zodiac symbol of strength and bravery. To celebrate, Chinese-style restaurant Miss Chow’s in South Perth is hosting an extravagant dining experience from February 1 – 12, including a huge banquet and traditional lion dances from the award-winning Yaolin Kung Fu Association.
It’s said that lion dances deliver good fortune and ward off evil spirits. The first dance at Miss Chow’s will take place on February 2 at 7.30pm and is supported by the City Of South Perth, followed by another performance on February 5 at 7.30pm, then a last dance February 12 at 8.15pm. The stunning performance will begin in the restaurant and then travel through the plaza, finishing on the Foreshore. Here you can expect views of the cityscape and Swan River.
As part of their special Lunar New Year menu and Prosperity Banquet, Miss Chow’s is serving up a slew of ‘fortunate’ food, which includes signature dishes such as wagyu truffle dumplings, a Prosperity Salad with fresh king fish and Chinese pickles, Longevity Noodles with lobster yee mein and seafood bisque, and Wealth & Treasure comprising of sliced, slow-cooked abalone with shiitake mushrooms in a rich, braised scallop broth.
Book a table here. You can find the restaurant at 39 Mends Street.
