This WA Day, take a little trip to Pinjarra for a long weekend filled with some good old-fashioned country fun! Winter might be here, but when has a bit of cold (or rain) scared off Perthians? About 80 km south of Perth, the Pinjarra Festival will be held on May 30 and 31, 2026, with a variety of interesting events in the pipeline. One of the oldest towns in WA, the town is located in the Shire of Murray.
Held at the Edenvale Heritage Precinct, this free Festival brings out the best of the preserved architecture, homestead gardens, timber fences, and barns in this remnant of a nineteenth-century village. Here’s everything you need to know about Murray’s largest free community event.
The Pinjarra Festival returns on May 30
Over two days, Pinjarra comes alive with music, street performers, artisan markets, and food trucks at the festival. Some of the best WA musicians, namely Junkadelic, Michael Wad Trio, Jacob Pihema, The Godlemans, and Ali Hill, are scheduled to perform.
Local town talent has early slots on the festival stages both days. And if you’re a fan of dancing, the Pinjarra Festival dedicates about an hour each day to line dancing, with spectators invited to join in!
It doesn’t end there. If you have kids, they’re bound to have a ball at the event. From animal farm to face painting, laser tag and dodgeball, there are enough activities to keep them entertained. In fact, with the eco faeries energiser zone, gym play trailer and gaming trailers, children will be pushed to have fun beyond their phones.
Don’t worry if you need a place away from the hubbub to decompress. Midway Community Care provides the Quiet Zone behind the Nu. Arts Gallery along Henry Street in the Edenvale Heritage Precinct.
Want to check out something beyond the Pinjarra Festival after the calm? Peruse Alcoa and Pinjarra Rotary Art Exhibition and Sale, The Peel Market Collective, or The Pinjarra Vintage, Antiques and Collectables Fair nearby. They also take place over the WA Day long weekend and offer deeper insights into the town’s culture.
