Summer and festivals go hand in hand – whack on a riverside location in the heart of the CBD and you’re in for a good time. And this February, a brand spanking new event, REFO Festival of Wine is en route to Perth City.
With a motto that boasts ‘music, friends, food and wine’, REFO is set to gather some of Western Australia’s (WA) top producers, restaurants, and musicians for a mid-summer celebration across Friday 17 and Saturday 18 February.
Held in the Victoria Gardens’ grassy nook next to the picturesque Claisebrook Cove, REFO is all about showcasing the cream of the crop with 20 different WA wines from five different regions in a wholesome, but lively atmosphere.
Expect to be sipping on drops from Black Cocky Wines, Local Weirdos, Si Vintners, Vine Collective, Yeah Wine, Cannabis Botanical Distillery, Terra Forma, Blasta Brewing Co, Funk Cider, and Nowhereman Brewing – to name a few.
In terms of nosh, a coupla Perth favourites will be suppling the goods to pair with the libations; namely Hoodburger, Tom’s Providore, Lucky Chan’s, and Lalla Rookh. A small selection, but they make up for it with their big flavours.
Local musicians and DJs will take to the stages while you sit back on the grassy grounds – or perhaps pack a picnic rug to lay down and enjoy the sunset with a glass of something in hand and your mate’s hand in the other.
REFO Festival of Wine are offering three sessions across the February weekend. Saturday afternoon from 12pm until 5pm for drinking, eating, and relaxing; and both Friday and Saturday evening from 4pm through to 10pm for drinking, eating, and dancing.
Tickets for REFO Festival of wine are required, while bringing old friends and making new ones is recommended.
