Movies are pretty good as is, but whack in an open-air rooftop, high above the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle with sweeping views of Perth City, and you’ve got yourself a mighty fine cinema situation. And luckily for the people of P-Town, Rooftop Movies in Northbridge has made a glorious return this season.
Atop a six storey building on Northbridge’s busy Roe Street, Rooftop Movies is providing the whole kit and kaboodle when it comes to watching the latest flicks and banging throw-back films.
Over the coming months at Rooftop Movies, you’ll be able to catch all the buzz films with the likes of Don’t Worry Darling and Amsterdam, along with some recent hidden gems such as The Woman King. You catch also catch 90s sci-fi Starship Troopers and for the holiday season Elf, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Love Actually are screening on the summit.
A few other absolute classics set to show include: The Princess Diaries, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and 10 Things I Hate About You.
ARTRAGE Projects Manager, Courtney Meagher said that Rooftop Movies is a divine place to enjoy balmy Perth summer nights. “This season’s program offers something for everyone to get excited about, from those that want the latest blockbuster to people like me who can’t help but watch their favourite film on repeat every year.”
While you sit back and relax over a big old bean bag, deck chair, or double-seater bean bag, you’ll be able to snack on a treat from Huxtaburger or from the candy bar where hot popcorn, locally crafted ice creams and all the cinema favs are no stranger. And thirst-quenching beers from Gage Roads and wines from MadFish are most definitely up for grabs too.
This season at Rooftop Movies runs from now until 2 April 2023, and you can find the full program here. Happy skyline gazing and film viewing!
