Us Perthians love a good market, there’s no denying that. And making a comeback this April long-weekend is the beloved Perth Makers Market.
The surefire classic market will be returning on Sunday 9 April from 9:30am until 3:30pm, setting-up shop at one of Perth’s most beautiful cultural precincts, Goolugatup Heathcote in Applecross.
More than 180 entrancing stalls will showcase their bounty, boasting Western Australian made products only, with a traditional Easter market charm, plus a storytelling session by author, Christine Gillougley of Hector, Hamish and Morag: A Hairy Cow Adventure.
There’ll be plenty for families to share and explore together, including an Easter egg scavenger hunt, colouring competition, and even a visit from the Easter Bunny.
The Perth Makers Market will be packed with gorgeous handmade goods, and the aromas of mouth-watering food will waft through the air.
Explore handcrafted jewellery and children’s toys alongside delicious homemade fudge and
freshly made crepes, as you browse the best homegrown artisans in Western Australia.
As you stroll and look, and wander and gaze, your ears will be feasting on live music from some of the state’s best buskers.
These markets be a great way to support local businesses and all that they have to offer – and boy do we have some talented gumnuts here in our nook of the world.
To top it off, the youngins can enjoy a pirate ship playground, henna, hair braiding, and glitter
tattoos from the Freedom Fairies in all their vibrant glory.
In terms of getting to Goolugatup Heathcote, you can either drive on over to the Heathcote Lower Lands where you’ll be met by the Applecross Rotary and their dedicated carpark as a fundraiser for their non-profit organisation, by donation.
Or simply hop on the Mandurah line train, jump off at Canning Bridge station, and take a soothing walk along the river to get to the market’s site.
Bring cash, leave your fur child at home, and put your browsing hat on for a stacked day of moseying at the Perth Makers Market Easter edition on Sunday 9 April 2023.
