Orca encounters, idyllic beaches, and local brews. These are just a few things on offer in Bremer Bay, which is located five hours south-east of Perth. This underrated destination is perfect for lovers of the ocean, and those in need of a well-deserved escape.
Orca encounters
A popular summertime attraction in Bremer Bay is hopping aboard a boat to meet the orcas out at sea. From January until April, the Bremer canyon becomes home to the largest-known pod of them in the southern hemisphere, which is wild. Naturaliste Charters offers an unforgettable day tour on their luxury vessel, with a chance to see these killer whales. There’s also food and drinks provided on the boat, so you won’t have to worry about bringing much at all (except your sense for adventure). It’s almost guaranteed that you’ll see the whales. But in the event you don’t, you can join onto a follow-up tour for free. You can book a Bremer Canyon Killer Whale (Orca) Expedition here.
Local brews
Bremer Bay is also home to a local brewery, where you can grab a beer and bite in between beach time. Bremer Bay Brewing Company serves up a range of stellar beers brewed in-house, with pub food to pair. There’s something about trying to the local produce that really hits different.

Or if you’re looking for a stay with absolutely amazing views, why not a book a stay at this epic retro beach shack on Airbnb, which overlooks the beach. Hot tip: summer in Bremer Bay is a busy time, so it’s recommended you book accommodation well in advance.
