Sore after a hard session, or just worn out from the working week? Genesis Health + Fitness Belmont now has a dedicated place for that. Its new Recovery space officially launched on Saturday, 10 October. It’s giving members a spot to wind down and look after their bodies once the workout is done.

The area includes Red Light Therapy, massage chairs, infrared saunas, massage guns and recovery boots. The gym says the equipment is meant to suit everyone from seasoned athletes to people new to training, as well as anyone dealing with a tough day at the desk or the general aches of daily life.
Recovery moves into the mainstream

The gym points to a range of benefits members can expect from regular use, including better sleep, faster muscle repair, less stress, improved circulation and a boost in performance.
Franchisee Josh Pirone says recovery is now seen as an essential part of any fitness routine. “We’re finding more and more people searching for a membership which reflects this,” he said.
What Premium members get. Recovery joins the Premium offering at Genesis Belmont, which already covers 24/7 gym access, expert-led Reformer Pilates classes and Coaching Zone Group Training sessions.
Genesis Health + Fitness CEO Ian Jensen-Muir says the aim is to put “all the tools they need in one place” for members as their health and fitness goals change.
Part of a growing network. Belmont is the fifth dedicated Recovery space across the Genesis network. The brand recently won the 2026 AUSactive Industry Innovation Award for Recovery. Founded in 1997 in Ringwood, Victoria, Genesis now runs more than 40 locations across Australia.
