The weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March is annually anticipated on the calendars of our plant-based friends of Perth. The two days mark a mammoth celebration of all things cruelty-free – the Perth Vegan Expo.
This year, the festivities will be held at Wellington Square/Moort-ak Waadiny in East Perth where you can expect to indulge in plenty of delicious plant-based foods, live music, workshops, talks, cooking demonstrations, and explore heaps of vegan-friendly market stalls.
The Perth Vegan Expo aims to share with the community the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, encourage peaceful activism, and support people in their path to eating more sustainable foods, all while hosting a space where people can connect with fellow vegans.
And even if you’re not vegan, or perhaps you’re vegan-curious, the Perth Vegan Expo welcomes all to come along to their free event and where some inspiration may be sparked.
Now, it wouldn’t be the Perth Vegan Expo without an abundance of magnificent, plant-based foods which will blow your mind; over 20 local and national vendors for that matter. Vegan food sure has come a long way in the past few years, with new innovations like plant-based meats aplenty; but vegan food is by no means a new fad.
At the Perth Vegan Expo you can find a range of traditional vegan foods, as well as creative products. Treat yourself to Canary Islands-style Spanish paella from Canarian Cuisine; French-inspired pastries with a modern take on classics from WHIP Patisserie; and sensational Malaysian fare from Little Beans Gourmet on Sunday – to name a few!
While a couple of interesting market stalls include: Faux Sho with their crafty variety of vegan cheeses, breads and deli goods; frozen vegan sashimi from Fish Free Sushi; and chiropractor Southside Spine and Sport on Sunday with their natural and holistic approach to the industry.
