First Gin. Then Margaritas. And to finish, Espresso Martinis.
What more do you want?
Perth’s Market Grounds are pulling no punches when it comes to their beer garden this summer season. Aside from the so-far scheduled three boozy festivals, which we will get onto in a minute, their beer garden is taking over King’s Square for a long time and not just a good time. Fitting it out with two outdoor bars (including their famous Grounds Caravan Bar), a rotating list of pop-up eateries, Giant Games, DJs every Friday and Saturday night to pump up the jams, and, to top it off, a Spritz Swan serving cocktails to your table. you will be hard-pressed to find a better place to spend your time in the sun this summer.
The Grounds beer garden is set to open on November 1 and will stay open all the way through to the end of April. Yep, you read that right. November through to April. That’s pretty much half the year.
1. Gin Tonica Festival
Tickets are selling out fast to this one with only the ‘Last Chance Winner Ginner’ tickets available. And for good reason too because aside from gin provided by distilleries like Four Pillars, Tanqueray, Bombay, Gordon’s, Hendrick’s, and Adelaide Hills and Fever-Tree tonics by the case, there will be multiple Gin Tonica bars, masterclasses, gin-inspired food and stalls packed with goodies to try create your most unique concoction. There will also be live music and DJs to help get you into a funky groove while you eye the custom raw-seafood bar set up by Fin’s Seafood.
The ‘Winner Ginner’ ticket, however, also includes a three-course dinner menu featuring carefully selected and paired gins. Make them extra-special by utilising the garnish bouquet on your table and adding the finishing touches to your Sunday funday.

2. Margarita Fiesta
For now, there’s not much to be said about The Grounds’ Margarita Fiesta but that’s okay since it’s still a number of months away. What we can say is that on Sunday, February 28, you can expect to find The Grounds complete with all things Margarita-like. Think, tacos, tequila, and mariachi bands. Oh, and obviously frozen margaritas too because you cannot have a Margarita Fiesta without frozen margaritas, especially at the end of summer.

3. Espresso Martini Festival 2.0
Last year’s Espresso Martini Fest was a sell-out, which means that The Grounds are unlikely to sway too far away from the winning formula of drinks on arrival, masterclasses, DJs, giant and party games, food pop-ups, a gelato cart and two outdoor Espresso Martini Bars so you’re never waiting too long for your next caffeine hit. The two-hour bottomless brunch with 3 paired espresso cocktails was also a massive hit last year and likely to be snapped up quicksmart when tickets go on sale.
Expect to see brands like Mr Black, Ketel One, Patron tequila, and Grey Goose making appearances in The Grounds beer garden.
