Roaming around Fremantle in the wintertime can seem like an unlikely scenario – however we Western Australians truly are blessed with at least an ounce of sunlight that gleams through the clouds on even the gloomiest of days.
With this in mind, from Friday 7 until Sunday 9 July the beloved Fremantle Markets will host their annual Truffle Extravaganza in collaboration with Great Southern Truffles, following the Manjimup Truffle and Wine Festival.
As you wander through the historic markets you’ll discover and array of stalls where sampling is by no means off limits. As well as the sneaky taste testing, you will have the opportunity to learn how to incorporate truffles into your own cooking to create melodious concoctions at home. Plus, the market’s eateries usually get in on the action with special menu items during the Extravaganza.
Great Southern Truffles is bringing the Manjimup ambiance with luscious installations throughout the pathways of the Freo Markets – so you if you’re unable to make the trip douth (down south) to truffle central, you will be able to get your truffle on without a worry.
The event is free for all, so gather your friends and/or family – and even if they aren’t into truffles, there’s always plenty of fun things to do, see, and eat at the Fremantle Markets – check out our Fremantle guide here.
