You know what they say, one ride opens and another one closes – at least that’s the running theme at Perth’s outdoor theme park, Adventure World.
Yarli’s Dragon Chase launched in December of 2022 at the Bibra Lake precinct, and now, after almost one million rides and more than two decades in action, crowd favourite Rampage is set to take one last spin as the summer season draws to a close.
It’s said that over 600 lunches were lost to the adrenalin-generator over the years, which perfectly sums up the high surge Rampage that delivers a rider experience on the aggressive side.
Standing at 13.5 metres high, the ride was the biggest thrill ride to ever hit Western Australia when it launched 22 years ago; coming in at a staggering $1.8 million. That’s equivalent to $3.285 million in 2023!
Adventure World CEO, Andrew Sharry says there’s been plenty of fond, fun, and sometimes frightening memories made with Rampage as the backdrop during its two-decade reign of the park.
“We’ve got park lovers who’ve been back season after season to ride Rampage, so we know it’s been responsible for plenty of fun not only for the people of Western Australia, but for those who have travelled far and wide to experience it.
“Retiring a ride is not something that happens every day, and although we’ll miss the thrills that Rampage delivers, the timing is right. After so many years in action, we’ll be saying goodbye, but also making room for Adventure World to evolve and welcome new, exciting rides in the years to come.
“We want to encourage anyone who loves Rampage, anyone who has never tried it, but always thought about it, or anyone who has maybe been patiently waiting to hit the height requirements to head on down for these last few weeks for one last ride,” Andrew shares.
Adventure World’s Rampage will be taking its final ride on Tuesday 25 April 2023. Securing tickets for park entry is recommended.
